As If! You Be The Judge

Some are saying that Jessica Sanchez ended up in the bottom three last week because of "song choice". Well the song she sang happens to be one of my favorite, by one of my favorite artist. Jessica's rendition of "Stuttering" by Jazmine Sullivan was genius. America was just too silly and boxed in to notice. Many times I watch American Idol and do not know the songs the contestants are singing but that should not downgrade their ability to sing. I'd simply say to those individuals who aren't familiar with a song and/or artist, do your research if it means that much.

The Not So American Way

To all of my #AmericanIdol fans, who watched last week Thursday's show? Ok now do I have any #JessicaSanchez fans out there? Ok so right now my top two picks for American Idol are Joshua and Jessica Sanchez. Actually those two have been my favorites from the beginning.
I arrived home late but thankfully I was able to catch the last 15 minutes of the show. At that point, I recall seeing two groups of three on the stage. One group that I noticed instantly was Joshua, Elise and Jessica. Automatically, I thought that was the "safe" group but soon long I was sadly mistaken. Ryan Seacrest asked Skyler the only remaining contestant to join which group she believed was safe in which she instantly refused to do. I'm guessing because she didn't want her American Idol mates to think she was being choosy or to really call out the best talent.
Anyway, Ryan directed her to the group with Colton...not the group with Jessica, Joshua, and Elise. That was a complete shock for me! I'm sure that was a shock to most of the viewers. Since the first season of American Idol, Ryan, the judges and contestants have always expressed the seriousness of voting. Just because you are confident in your favorite idol doesn't mean that everyone else thinks so. Therefore voting is vital to their chances of winning no matter if they had a fantastic week singing or not.
Ok so once I grasped the idea that my two favorites were in the bottom three I just knew Elise was going home. Josh was the first sent back to the couch, leaving Elise  and Jessica. And then the unexpected happened...
Jessica was annoucnced as the contestant leaving last night! What?!?! Come again??? Yes! You read correctly. My jaw nearly touched the floor. I was completely flabbergasted. How could that be? Jessica is one of, if not thee best contestant on the show. Well here is where things began looking up for the 16 year old singing sensation. Not even minutes in to her song did the judges-Jennifer, Randy and Steven get on the stage and instruct her to go sit down. All season long the judges were given the opportunity to use their "save card" and they finally used it on someone who deserved it, Jessica.

Pint-Sized, Big Talent

Okay, so is anyone out there familiar with Sophia Grace and her friend Rosie? Omgoodness aren't they just the cutest? Ever since I've been home taking care of my little bundle of joy, I have been hooked on watching Ellen DeGeneres religiously. I love her humor, her heart, and her confidence in her "dancing". So while watching one afternoon, I saw these two girls pop up on the screen. I fell in love instantly with pint-sized talented divas Sophia Grace and her hype girl/ best friend Rosie. They first appeared on The Ellen Degeneres show on October 12, 2011 when Ellen surprised them with a chance to meet one of their idols Nicki Minaj. And boy did they love that. The lovely ladies had the opportunity to sing and rap with Nicki who then offered them a shopping spree.
Since then, these girls have become international sensations with their adorable British accents and assortment of tu-tus. I absolutely love their bubbliness...is that a word? Sophie Grace and Rosie have graced many red carpets including the Grammy's interviewing everyone that comes in to their sight and greeting them by bouncing up and down, screaming and giving big hugs and kisses. By the way they are just 5 and 6 years old, what do you expect?

Pay Me In Cupcakes Please

All I have to say about this is...PURE GENIUS! So is there anyone out there who would like to offer me a trip to Chicago so that I can experience this sweet innovation? Sprinkles please bring the ATM to your new location in New York City. I haven't even tried these cupcakes yet, but I have a feeling they are simply irrestible? Why? Because why would they even bother to make their cupcakes so accessible 24/7 if they weren't? Something to think about...no not really, I'm convinced. But just so that I don't bite my tongue I will try their cupcakes soon. Let's say before the week is over. Who's down???

Proud New Mommy: Lovable Tee!

So remember how I mentioned earlier about a "new addition"? Well January 26th of this year I became a proud mother to my beautiful daughter Tarai whose nickname is...what else? "CUPCAKE" of course! =) As you all know by now, I have an obsession with cupcakes and craved them my entire pregnancy along with healthier treats like fruits and cereals.

"What's Going On" My Loves?

I know you all are probably wondering the same with me. One month I'm here blogging faithfully then the next year I return out of the wood works. Well to my followers a lot has happened that even had me asking myself "What's Going On?" Nevertheless, I am back and now with a new addition... But more about that later. So to my loving followers, I ask again "What's Going On?" I would really love to hear from you all. So hit me up = ) I miss you sooooo much!

When It Becomes Too Much...Man Down!

Man Down!
I am a Chris Brown fan however that does not mean I agree or agreed with everything he has done. It is obvious that the video is relating back to the horrible incident that occured between Rihanna and Chris back in 2009. He was wrong for allowing whatever happened between them to escalate into the resulting incident. What transpired however between them in their relationship was obviously not one-sided as many convince themselves to believe. I am sure Rihanna and Chris both played major roles in the downfall of their relationship and whatever led to that incident as well.So the video doesn't deal with the abusive situation per say that occured between her and Chris, it dealls with sexual abuse specifically.

So after watching the video I am here to offer you my unbiased opinion. I believe Rihanna did a good thing by portraying and “re-living” an incident similar to her own to bring to light that this is a situation that many face but considering that many who are victims of this are not celebrities living their lives before the eyes of many, no one really hears their story. So in that way it was a good video. Beyond the messaging I loved her long, wavy, red locks and the scenes on the plank in the water. It brought back a little of her Caribbean roots with the town scenes, party scenes, dancing and the rest of the scenery.
What I had a problem with was that the video opens with her killing her attacker. Though it is one scene, violence is promoted as well as the idea of “an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.” When people do you wrong, though in your mind the best thing to do is seek revenge on them, from my personal experiences, sometimes that is not necessary. God is the ultimate judge and He sees all and knows all. Therefore nothing that anyone does goes unnoticed and if it is a wrong doing, it will not go unpunished. So that scene, though it told the story of the video and added more drama, it does not teach the right message.

So there you have it. #ThatLovableOneTee
